WELCOME BACK!

Hello friends and welcome to our 2022 rafting season!

We are particularly excited about this year as with less travel restrictions, we can welcome those who were not able to join us the last two years!

COVID-19 – 2022 Updates

We will be following provincial mandates as they roll out.

Currently wearing masks in public indoor settings is not required by public health. Wearing a mask is a personal choice. And not required. We respect your choice whether to wear one or not as we ride the bus together.

Outdoor recreation remains the most encouraged form of activity from the Provincial Health Authorities for its reduced risk of transmission, and the benefits of mental, physical, and emotional wellness.

Your family’s well-being has always been at the forefront of our operations.

PEACE OF MIND

Managing risk is what we do. Kootenay Raft Co. is committed to giving you peace of mind every step of the way. Working with guidelines set by the Provincial Health Officer and Best Practices encouraged by the BCROA (BC River Outfitters Association), the KRC team has put the following measures in place to make your experience as safe and enjoyable as possible ( To read our full Co Covid-19 Response Plan, click here)

POLICIES STILL IN PLACE

Cleaning & Sanitation Policy and Checklists

Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols and frequency including all gear, vehicles, and surfaces that follow government and industry guidelines.

Gear such as paddle handles, river booties, life jackets, and wetsuits will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected then put in rotation.

Employee Illness & Health Monitoring Policy

Daily monitoring of our staff’s health.

Guest Health Monitoring Checklist

Monitoring of guest’s health.

  • have you experienced a new onset of cold or flu-like symptoms within the last 10 days?
  • have you been in close contact with anyone with Covid-19 related symptoms in the last 10 days?
  • have you traveled outside of Canada in the last 10 days?
  • do you consent to contact tracing?

Peace of Mind Cancellation Policy

Travel with peace of mind. KRC has implemented a 100% refund cancellation policy for COVID related illness or COVID related restrictions to your travel.

Employee COVID-19 Training

Detailed and ongoing staff training of our COVID-19 Response Plan, including cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing protocols.

Continuous review of our policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government and industry guidelines and to increase safety and experience to our guests and staff.

YOUR COOPERATION

Guest Illness & Health Policy

Do not book an activity or rentals if you’re feeling sick or showing symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough, sore throat, sneezing, difficulty breathing), or have been around someone who’s sick or has Covid-19.

Cleaning & Sanitation Policy and Checklists

Wash and sanitize your hands regularly. Sanitation stations will be available in our office, vehicles, and outfitting area. Please sign your digital waiver that is sent via a link in our confirmation email prior to your trip to avoid unnecessary contact.

Attire & Personal Belongings

To reduce the risk of transmission, please arrive prepared. Although we have outdoor change rooms available at the start of the trip, we recommend wearing your swimwear under your clothes. Pack a small bag with a towel and dry clothes for changing on the bus after the trip. Leave unnecessary items in your hotel or vehicle.

Zero Tolerance Policy

As Dr. Henry encourages, “Be calm, be kind, be safe”.  Please be patient and respectful during this fluid time. For the health, safety, and enjoyment for all of our guests, please abide by the COVID Response policies outlined. These policies have been adopted from the Ministry of Health and BC Rivers Outfitters Association to allow us to be able to provide activities and rentals during this uncertain time. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

… FINALLY, LET’S PLAY!

Now that that is out of the way, let’s get outside our doors where there are endless places to discover and experience what living the Kootenay Life is all about.

All that to say, we are so excited to finally get out on the river with you!
