FAQs
We meet at KRC’s Bootleg Basecamp! This is approximately 15 minutes South West of Kimberley, just 4km past the Kimberley Riverside Campground. 1280 St Mary’s Lake Road. Look for the Yellow and Blue Paddle!
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to trip departure to check in and we can get the group organized. There is parking on property. Once everyone has arrived, we will begin our introductions! Please do not arrive before 12:45 PM, as guides are not available to direct your group.
There are no additional fees for equipment. For your maximum comfort and value, KRC provides the following complementary gear:
- Clean, high quality wetsuits
- Neoprene footwear to keep your feet warm!
- Nylon splash jacket
- Helmet
- Lifejacket
- Neporene gloves and sweaters upon request (for cold days!)
If you don’t have closed toed shoes, we will provide Neoprene booties!
You do not! All valuables and dry clothing will stay on the bus with our driver or in your car. Everything that goes on the river is at risk of getting wet!
There are two people per kayak. This can be two adults, an adult and a youth or two teens. You are guided but you are in your own boat, you must have a moderate level of fitness.
No experience necessary! The first portion of the trip is instructional, we give you a specific orientation and we pratice strokes and steering! These kayaks are like small rafts, more stable than a regular kayak.
